Description
With his eerie, keening vocals and minor-tuned guitar, no other bluesman sounds quite like Skip James. This is perfectly encapsulated on his 1968 Vanguard Records solo release, Devil Got My Woman. The Blues Foundation hails the title track as "the quintessential Skip James song." Released in partnership with Acoustic Sounds, the album has been (AAA) remastered from the original tapes by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and pressed on 180-gram vinyl. A tip-on jacket completes the package.
