Jean-Michel Blais’ fourth solo album, mirador, is a poetic post-classical work transforming suburban childhood memories into an imaginative world tour. Inspired by his experiences growing up queer with Tourette’s, the album celebrates family, music, absence and wonder through the sounds of choir, Andean instruments, strings and piano, reimagining ordinary spaces as extraordinary landscapes of possibility.
