Description
GALT MACDERMOT is best known for his Tony Award winning scores for HAIR and Two Gentlemen of Verona, as well as his jazz standard, Coffee Cold. HIs work spans the gamut of performing arts and he draws inspiration from a wealth of musical styles, crossing the boundaries of jazz, folks, gospel, reggae, classical styles and hip hop.
Galt MacDermot started his independent record label, Kilmarnock Records, in 1960 to product and sell his own music. His children and grandchildren extend his legacy with the first new press from Kilmarnock Records in over 30 years.
GUTTERBALL is a 12-track compilation album of previously unreleased music recorded by Galt between 1972 and 1980. Like most of his music, it features Bernard Purdie, Wilbur Bascomb, and Billy Butler, among others - some of the world's best musicians.
