Icelandic metal cult Zhrine (featuring members of Svartidaudi and formerly named Shrine) unleashed a monolithic slab of death with their 2016 Season of Mist debut album Unortheta. An imposing beast of an album, Unortheta is a twisted mass of dense and atonal riffing among some of the genre's most elegant and cinematic arrangements. Zhrine emerged as masters of their world, and Unortheta heralded the awakening of an altogether new force.
