RSD Black Friday 2020 at Plaid Room!

We're so excited for Black Friday in 2020! It's a great list and we are going to do our best to make this a great experience for all of our wonderful customers! This page is designed to answer the most commonly asked questions we get leading up to RSD, however if you have anything that's not answered here, please shoot us an email at support@plaidroomrecords.com.
This year, due to COVID-19, Black Friday will look a lot different. There will be a maximum of 6 customers in the store at any given time and all customers will be required to wear a mask to fully covers your mouth and nose. You cannot pre-order or have RSD items placed on hold, as this violates the pledge we have signed with RSD, so please don't ask.
- Doors will open at 10am EST
- We will start handing out numbers around 6:30 am that morning. We ask that once you have your number, please be cool and do not congregate around the shop. You can feel free to go home, take a nap, and please make your way back to the shop once we are close to your number in the above "Now Serving" line. But please maintain a safe distance from others while you do wait. The idea behind the "Now Serving" is to allow y'all to do whatever you'd like to do while you wait your turn, but to also help avoid a crowd at the door.
- We will allow 6 customers in at a time and then it will be a "one in, one out" situation
- All customers will be required to have a safety mask to enter
- We will have hand sanitizer & clean surfaces
- Each person is allowed to buy one copy per RSD title
- The shop will close for in-store shopping at 6:30pm on Friday
- All remaining RSD stock will go online at 7:30pm ET
- We will re-open for in-store shopping on Saturday morning from 11am - 5pm and Sunday back to our normal hours of 12pm - 5pm.
Remaining stock will be available for purchase online at 7:30pm ET Friday, November 27. Please note, this is earlier than in previous years, where we've waited until the next day.
A few very important notes regarding online orders:
- Items in your cart are NOT reserved for you. Our cart system works like MANY other online retailers, in that items are not reserved until the checkout process is completed. We realize this may be problematic for some folks, as some people are used to ticketing websites that have a hold feature enabled. We do not and will not have this capability, so please be warned of this BEFORE you order.
- "Add To Cart" buttons will appear on THIS PAGE first, and not on individual product pages. Product pages will update with add to cart buttons between 7:30 and 7:40, it will not happen immediately.
- We DO NOT ship internationally. Many of the distributors we source product from have export restrictions and we would risk losing our accounts with them if we were to sell internationally. Sorry!
- We only permit one copy per title of RSD records to try and get these records to as many folks as possible. Any orders containing duplicates of individual titles are subject to immediate cancellation.
- PLEASE, try to avoid using ApplePay or ShopPay if possible. These payment options will often skip the part of the checkout that allows you to choose the correct shipping option.
